Celebrating the Festive Spirit: Our Students Shine at the Melbourne Music Education Annual Christmas Concert!
To wrap up the year on a high note, our talented students took to the stage for the Melbourne Music Education Annual Christmas Concert. This special event was a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to showcase their hard work, dedication, and love for music in a festive and joyous setting.
Each student had the chance to perform two pieces—one being their favourite Christmas tune, bringing the holiday spirit to life, and the other a piece they had been diligently working on throughout the term. The concert hall was filled with the magical sounds of holiday classics, personal favourites, and heartfelt performances, making it a truly memorable occasion for all in attendance.
A huge congratulations to all the students who performed! Their commitment and passion were evident in every note they played, and it was a delight to see their progress and confidence shine on stage. Special thanks to the families, teachers, and supporters who came along to cheer them on and celebrate their musical journey.
As we close out the year, we are incredibly proud of our students' achievements and look forward to another year filled with music, learning, and inspiration. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a harmonious New Year!
Christmas Concert 2024 organised by Ann
Last year, for the first time, our director, Ann, organised a series of Christmas concerts in local Melbourne churches, bringing together professional musicians and community choirs in South Melbourne and Avondale Heights. The concerts featured stunning performances by our very own teachers, with Ann on the organ and singing, Misha arranging music and Sam showcasing his talent on the violin. It was a truly memorable highlight of the year, celebrating music, collaboration, and the festive spirit!

Introducing our newest team member!
Melbourne Music Education would like to proudly present our newest piano teacher, Mr Louis Nicoll into our team.
Louis Nicoll is a classical pianist based in Melbourne. He completed his Bachelor of Music with first class honours in 2018 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and his Masters of Music (Performance) in 2023 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. While still a student, Louis won first prize in Melbourne Youth Orchestra’s 2016 ‘Virtuosity’ competition, performing Liszt’s ‘Totentanz’ for orchestra and piano. He was also awarded numerous scholarships including the M&E Kefford Scholarship, the Sir William McKie Scholarship, and the Bill Burrell Memorial Scholarship. Since graduation, Louis has performed internationally, touring Mozart’s music in China with Australian International Productions, and has performed recitals for the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall. Louis has frequent musical engagements at Melbourne’s Tempo Rubato, as well as a busy schedule of accompanying and teaching work.

Students’ Concert May 2024
We had our first student concert of the year in May with a mixture of piano and violin performances. Congratulations to all the students who participated at the student concert.
‘Make your music’ Concert 2023
Our final concert of 2023 was the 'Make Your Music' concert. A variety of music was performed, including pieces that students were preparing for their exams. Additionally, as an exciting feature, a number of students wrote their own compositions during Term 3 and performed them in front of their peers. This activity was exhilarating for many students. Those who wrote their own music were highly commended. Congratulations to all the students who performed! What a great way to end the year!

In preparation for the music exams, numerous students showcased their exam repertoire at the August student concert, boosting their confidence before the exams. Additionally, one of our piano students, Leo, wowed the audience by performing a piece on his second instrument, the saxophone. Congratulations to all performers!

Students’ Christmas Concert 2022
It is always such a delight to have the annual Christmas concert. We heard many wonderful Christmas arrangements performed by the students including a few student piano duets and a violin performance. A day at the theatre concert
It was with great pleasure that our own music director Ann has returned to performing on stage after more than two years of absence. She performed with guest artist Aaron Khaled in November last year various piano music based on theatre music.
Due to popular demand, Ann will be performing the same programme this year on Saturday 6th of May. More details to come.

Students' October Concert 2022
To support our students' preparation for their end-of- year music exams we organised a student concert in October in collaboration with Oberfeld Piano School. Congratulations to all the students who performed in the concert. This has definitely helped the students achieve very high results in their piano exams.

Isabella receives Honourable Mention at Eisteddfod by the Bay!
Well done to all our students who participated with special congratulations to Isabella who received Honourable Mention in the Preliminary to Grade 1 piano section. Each section had 20 contestants and only the top 6 received a prize or an honourable mention. Excellent achievement Isabella!
