In 2007, Ann was awarded AMusA (Associate Diploma in Music, Australia), and in 2010, she achieved LMusA (Licentiate Diploma in Music, Australia) in Piano Performance. In 2012, Ann was awarded FTCL (Fellowship Diploma in Piano Performance, Trinity College of Music, London).
Ann completed the Bachelor of Music degree within two years (instead of three years) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, The University of Melbourne, with First Class Honours. During these years she was awarded five prestigious scholarships for excellence: the Francis Quinn Arts Encouragement Award (2014), the DW Gardiner Fund Award (2016), Florence Menk Meyer Prize (2016), Madeleine Orr Scholarship (2017) and the Grace Funston Scholarship (2018). She continued her studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music completing an Honours degree in 2016, then a Master of Music Performance in 2018, again obtaining First Class Honours.
Along with organizing and performing in concerts, Ann is experienced in teaching piano for various ages to suit all interests from playing for leisure to partaking AMEB exams. For Ann, teaching piano is more than just ‘tickling the keys’, it also involves exploring the meaning behind the music, providing various cognitive approaches to the learning and encouraging the student to learn to the best of their ability. Ann is also a member of the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association (VMTA).
Ann specialises in teaching students for AMEB exams with many of her students achieving A (Honours) and A+ (High Distinction) in their exams. She is currently teaching students from AMEB Preliminary to Diploma level.
